So I plan I building a decent size CNC and I have 3 phase supply so I'll try to balance the lines as best I can.
These ASD-A2 drives do come in 3 phase variants but 400v ones are exceptionally hard to find.
I noticed in the general schematic that the IGBT supply bus is available through the braking resistor connection (P+)
My thought was because the z axis probably won't be working as hard as the other two axes could I have one phase per drive and link the IGBT bus between them so they share the same bus and can pull current as they need it? Very cheeky I know but I'm asking because I'm unsure if there is PFC correction that will mess with it or the brake resistor circuitry might not work as intended.
Anyone done this?

NO.
There are drives that can have the DC rail wired together, so the idea is sound, but not at the braking resistor terminals.
