7i77 and 12v single ended encoders
/edit i guess i could put resistor on each leg. Thses are single ended encoders.

mode range so I'm not sure it would work reliably
Because of the 2K Ohm pullups to +5V on the TTL inputs, its probably best to use a resistor divider with
2 resisitors per input. Because of the 2K pullups this divider should be low impedance, say
12VENC --> 470 Ohm --> 7I77Input -->220 Ohm --> GND

They are 12v, so I will do lik you said and put resistors.
I dont know what kind of outputs they are. I am looking for them.
Looking further details at this site: www.italsensor.com/tkw615c/

Would this be correct?

Do they work at 8V? 5V? Might be worth finding out.

If not I guess I will do the voltage devider option as depicted in the drawing.

Imagine that..... they are working with 5V.

I do have one machine with voltage dividers working for over 4 or 5 years, never missed anything. It is easy to calculate and make voltage dividers, just needs a bit of care when connecting them as disconnecting the ground wire while powered could destroy the inputs.
BTW i have them at 24V.
