There was another topic regarding this error today, Cmorley already pushed a fix for it and by now it should be ready to download or update.

during one of the first windows in pncconf it has a checkbox for Starting Axis maximized. I checked it and got the error. When I rerun poncconf and made sure it was unchecked, it worked.
So this brings me to question where in the axisrc file allows you to start axis maximized?

i found the error in pncconf and will push the fix soon.
in the .axisrc file adding this should set AXIS maximized:
root_window.attributes('-fullscreen', True)
