When mah was active he was of the pinion that anything that could be done my remap should be done that way, rather than by core code changes.

I am coming round to the idea that this behaviour should be a switch in [EMCIO]

Remap could be made much more friendly I think.
adding more standard remaps could help.(I added a couple)
