The IRC and Matrix channels could probably be bridged

The IRC and Matrix channels could probably be bridged - that way the community is less fragmented. Discord is another story although it is possible with a bot.

Already are bridged from matrix to Libera. Your nick has to be registered with Libera to insure the chats go each direction across the bridge.

The Matrix admins told me that Libera does not allow double bridges so adding a bridge to Discord would take a blessing from the Libera admins.

what's matrix?

matrix.org/

Matrix is an open source project that publishes the Matrix open standard for secure, decentralised, real-time communication, and its Apache licensed reference implementations.

Thanks for that info. It wasn't clear to me from linuxcnc.org/community/ what was "official" vs "unofficial"
