xhc-hb04 shared memory error

xhc-hb04 shared memory error was created by sagreen
I'm trying to get an xhc-hb04 pendant running in pathpilot.
I successfully compiled linuxcnc using these docs.. linuxcnc.org/docs/master/html/code/building-linuxcnc.html
I built linuxcnc on a computer with pathpilot 2.8.3 installed.
The version of linuxcnc that I built was 2.8-pre1 (which is the same version that the pathpilot logs says is running)
When I run xhc-hb04 from the command line, it sees the pendant and reports data when buttons are pressed or the MPG is moved.
When I install in pathpilot, pathpilot reports the following error during startup.
halcmd -i /home/operator/tmc/configs/tormach_mill/tormach_1100-3_sim.ini -f xhc-hb04.hal
sudo dmidecode -s system-product-name: System Product Name
rtapi_shmem_new failed due to shmget(key=0x48414c32): Invalid argument
HAL: ERROR: could not open shared memory
xhc-hb04: ERROR: hal_init failed
xhc-hb04.hal:1: waitpid failed xhc-hb04 xhc-hb04
xhc-hb04.hal:1: xhc-hb04 exited without becoming ready
HALCMD ini file /home/operator/tmc/configs/tormach_mill/tormach_1100-3_sim.ini load failed with config file xhc-hb04.hal
Any thoughts on why the shared memory error is popping up? I found a single reference to this same error with an xhc-hb04 but the author never mentioned how it was fixed.
Thanks a ton!
