MDI Command Error was created by Insomniac
Hello.
Recently I ran into an issue with adding in a z probe for automatic tool touch off for a newly built CNC using a mesa 7i96s. After running I get an error "halui.mdi-command-00 does not exist". I have attached my config files. The only line in my postgui file is as follows (so I dont have to attach it)

net ztouch halui.mdi-command-00 <= pyvcp.ztouch

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

there is no attached file, make sure you have something like this in your INI

[HAL]
HALUI = halui

[HALUI]
MDI_COMMAND = G53 G0 Z-165

also you cannot use the normal hal file, you must put

net ztouch halui.mdi-command-00 <= pyvcp.ztouch

in the hal file that loads after the UI, I think postgui.hal usually, depends on the UI

Sorry for the mistake I have attached my files here.

I do have that line in the post gui file. I also have those other lines you mentioned. Thank you for your help!

You have two [HALUI] section one of which is empty, that could be the issue? what linuxcnc version are you using? I think only recently this has been fixed and properly supported, new parser landed on 11th of April, unless you are using incredibly recent version, your INI with double sections is not well supported

Thank you that fixed that issue. Now I have an error "custom_postgui.hal pin pyvcp.ztouch does not exist". Im wondering if its not loading the file. z_touch.ngc and ztouch.xml are in my subroutines folder. I have attached them here.

Just figured it out. I had a file called custompyvcp it was looking into for the ztouch code. Whoops. Thank you again for your help!
