Hi All,
I need some clarification about servo period value on Pncconf fisrt step.
The default value is 1,000,000 ns and during heavy test on Latency test I'm getting Max Jitter values like less than 8000 for servo thred and less than 15000 for base thread (few times I got spikes of 20000)
Do I need to modify servo period?

Hi,
a little update.
Discovered that Virtualization and Power Technology (cstate, etc...) was enabled in BIOS.
Just disabled them and I'm getting very stable values, 6600 for servo thread and 14000 for base thread.
Running lot of glxgears and other stuff, system seems freezed but latency is stable.
One drawback is the cpu temperature, it is about 60 degrees now, the system is fanless.
Anyway, do I need to modify servo period in Pncconf?

No, a 1 ms (1000000 ns) servo thread is fine for most applications
anything less than 50 usec (50000 ns) is ok for mesa hardware
and up to 500 usec (500000 ns) can be accommodated if required

Do you mean that 50 usec on latency test or servo period value on Pncconf?

50 usec on the latency test is fine
500 usec can be fine with the correct firmware/hal file
There is typically no reason to change from a 1 KHz servo thread
