LinuxCNC Installation bleibt bei Netzwerk hängen

hallo zusammen,

This is wrong on several ways.
You are not using the Linuxcnc  ISO which runs on Buster. It has kernel 4.19
5.15 kernel likely does not have Python 2.7 which is required for Linuxcnc V 2.8
The R8125 NIC was not supported until Kernel 5.9 so it is not supported on Buster.
I recommend you throw Linux Mint in the bin and install Debian Bookworm (Debian 12)
Follow my instructions  here to do that.
vmnet.com.au/linuxcnc/getting-linuxcnc.html

Do not fear Debian 12. It will be the official release on 10 June (12 days from now)

This is now superceded as its in the 2.9 documents now. Not sure how the translations work.
Please refer to this link instead. linuxcnc.org/docs/2.9/html/getting-start...etting-linuxcnc.html

Dear rodw,
I did everything exactly as you recommended, the installation really went smoothly. debian 12 and linuxcnc is installed and theoretically running at least once. The latency test with "glxgears" gives an average value of about 23000. I think that's really great ;o) but what is a matter of getting used to is the new desktop interface, which I don't like at all. Let's see, next week it's time to set up the new 3/4 axis portal milling machine with the new LinuxCNC PC. I say thank you very much for your support.

best regards

Hi Aciera,

Great result!
You have to use at least Debian Bullseye to get support for your NIC but it does not have an easy way to install Linuxcnc So we use Debian Bookworm instead becasue it has linuxcnc in its repositories

The document I shared should go into the 2.9 docs soon as I have a pull request for it. Not sure how translations work get it into Deutch.
