Z axis cuts in the air - not plunging
Jeff65 wrote: Sorry misunderstood there - you mean there is 4 wires for each motor - yes that's right. How do I know which 2 wires to swop?
Just change the SCALE to -ve

Ok that's good. All the axis are independent of each other.
Does pressing page down make the z axis go down or up. It should go down
Did you correct the spelling in the ini file

pressing page down now makes the spindle come down and it matches what is on the screen.
However, if i press the 'home all' button the spindle goes the opposite way to the switch which is at the top end of the travel
I have also corrected the 'H' that was missing

That's good. Now you need to change the sign in home search vel to -
HOME_SEARCH_VEL = 1.000000 ##### changing the sign make the motor go opposite ie -1.0000
HOME_LATCH_VEL = 0.050000 ##### the same with this it should hit the switch and then back off
OME_FINAL_VEL = 2
The numbers are the speed it will move at in units per second ie 1.0000 will be 60mm per min

BUT
The question in my eyes is his code generator. I think most are setup to have the starting plane on top, with a value near to zero. Than dig into material with negative values. His code increases, like a sliced peace.
Jeff I would have a look to the gcode generator to invers his behaviour.

Now I'm a bit confused as to what is best to do
So should I undo what I've done so far then?

Yes but the machine has to be setup to work first without any code ie just jogging around and homing correctly.
The when he touches off and uses code a -ve z should go down.
Jeff
