Homing direction.. was created by Pauchuk
Hello. So, I am using 2 seperate switches on Y axis (2 steppers). My steppers home different directions. I put a minus sign on homing velocity on one of joints, it fixes direction, but, one switch has to be triggered once, another twice.. (for one its till it triggers switch, goes back a little, then again till triggers switch, another joint just triggers switch and stops). If there is no minus sign, they both trigger switch, goes away and then comes back trigger second time.

You would have to reverse both the search and latch signs to have the same kind of homing cycle.

I think it would be better to change the direction pin polarity on one of the Y joints
and leave the homing identical, homing is already complicated enough...

Just on drivers, for example?

Probably the easiest is just to invert the parallel port pin that
drives the direction pin of the joint you need to reverse, something
like:

setp parport.0.pin-5-out-invert true

Hi.. I have problem here. Homing works well till sometimes y axis want to home different directions, even after restarting linuxcnc or pc itself, wrong directions stay. How is that possible?

Sounds like the home switch is not working reliably

If its in the wrong state, LinuxCNC will try to back-off the switch.

Could also be direction wiring or electrical issue with direction signal

DId not want to make a new topic, so I will continue here :)
Got all switches working, squaring machine.
Now 2 things:

I use Mach3 BOB

1) When I home and select higher joggind speeds, I get error " joint 3 following error.." and sometimes " command (EMC_JOG_STOP) cannot be executed until machine is out of E stop and turned on.. Same speed works for X axis, when I choose to jog Z, it get me this error.. and increasing  speed gives the same error.

2) I homed machine, then pressed to execute that G code " linuxcnc" and it crashed in to my limitswitch and crashed it (third one on this build)

Suggestions :)

What does the command "uname -a" say?

It sounds like you might not be running realtime.
