Great work! Thank you!
We will work on getting the latest 3D graphics drivers and getting a Gentoo ISO going with latest Linuxcnc for the pi4.
Maybe someone else can work on Debian/Raspian packages for this.

I made an SD card image:
www.linuxcnc.org/dists/buster/2.8-uspace/
It's a run-in-place image, I couldn't figure out the packaging for Raspbian. This means you have to use
. ./linuxcnc-dev/scripts/rip-environment
linuxcnc
to start it. But then it works.

We worked with the pi 3 and 4 a bit and stopped development. The HDMI was too flaky for 4K output. Not sure if we will ever return to using them.

I don't think a CNC machine needs 4k, though.Bari wrote: The HDMI was too flaky for 4K output. Not sure if we will ever return to using them.

I do for some of mine so we end up having to support too many different boards. Maybe the Rock64 or Odroid quad core + mali or similar board that does a good job of having ports that conform to spec (SATA, PCIe, HDMI etc) vs more Broadcom junk.
Heatsink definitely required for the pi4.
