Just a little Question was created by LittleShorty
Hi, I am temporarily at the stage of documentation and I have one question about EterCAT in LinuxCNC. So I created a little graph for the workflow between the Linux Kernel, Etherlab and EtherCAT-Master but I’m not 100% sure, if the reality looks like my imagination. Maybe can someone clear this up.

I think of it as being more like
Linux/linuxcnc/hal-driver/Etherlab-master/BUS/Slaves
Ethercat requires a master controller and in our case we use the one written by etherlab so there is only one component not 2.

Thanks for your reply,
I took a look into the etherlab projekt and and the EtherCAT-Master is part of EtherLab.
Etherlab generates the real-time-application and EtherCat-Master handels the filed-bus master.
So the order of steps made sense to me.
Maybe EtherLab and EtherCAT-Master should be bounldeld in a bigger box, if im not wrong here. But my experiencelevel in this field is pretty low, therefor my question.
