PP din socket for tool setter connections

I have a tool setter non Tormach but looks the same mine does not have a led only to switches one for the tool trip and the other NC for the over travel fault.

I am looking for the connections to this DIN socket for the two switches. I believe pin 1 is 5v dc - pin 4 is common - pin 2 not used - pin5 input - pin 3 is 12v dc

Check out Tormachs site for thier probes.
here's the direct link to the page and doc
tormach.com/passive-probe-kit-32309.html
pdf here
tormach.com/media/asset/t/d/td10088_pass...be_install_0515a.pdf

last page has the pin-out

this is my opinion
grab the Tormach doc on anything you're trying to implement. they do a decent job of documenting things

Thanks. I had not seen that PDF

but I had the pin outs from the manual. But the tool setter I have has another switch lower down NC contacts I would like to put this switch in the estop chain or some other way of stopping the machine if the first one fails

any suggestions?

I used the unused pin on Tormach’s side as follows:

One side of NC switch over travel goes to 12+.
The other side goes to the unused pin.

Inside the cabinet I used a solid state relay, took the wire from the unused pin to one side of the SSR, the other side of the SSR to the ground pin on the DIN. On the switched side of the SSR, I wired it in series with the E-stop on the cabinet. That way if it over travels the relay goes open and the machine e-stops.

Yes I was thinking along those lines but I did nor want to keep the din plug in all the time. I suppose I could put a dummy plug in or a switch on the panel across the relay contacts.

Do you know what the voltage on the e-stop chain is and is it AC or DC

I planned on a dummy plug as well.

It’s 110v in my machine as I recall.
