Hi! "some" time has passed so I would like to ask how did the Stahlwerk Cut 100 work out as a CNC plasma cutter power source?

Kind regards/Stefan
I never got it, living in this country is going from shitty to extremely tough, the power just got a price hike of exactly 242 % !
I friend had a CUT 70 from StahlWerk and it worked perfectly well, granted does not like having the torch to far from material when firing, 3 to 4mm are ok, at 5 it occasionally fails to start.
Now i am trying to get a Kzubr (some Russian Chinese abomination) and i was told they have one here for 600E, it says 100A but i would bet my life it will not do over 50 or 60, but i am ready to be amazed ! :)
Do remind me in a week or two.
BTW the 70A Stamos (or similar) that he bought instead of StahlWerk also works fine, been something like 4 months without issues.

hi guys I bought a MESA 7I96+THCAD300 for my CNC plasma machine project a couple of years ago. So I don't really remember how and why I chose THCAD300, although I have plasma machines Stahlwerk CUT 70, as far as I know, with ARC pilot type ignition. And if I understand correctly I need THCAD 10? Is there any way to modify or adapt the THCAD300 I have to my needs? Should I buy a new one? If new, what kind?

Does not look like pilot start, there is a missing connection for a usually red thinner wire.
More pictures?

thanks tommylight for your quick reply. Well, I'm not sure about that in Arc Pilot, that's why I wrote likely. I relied on the information I was able to find on the Internet. However, I have no doubt that you are right and cutter is not an Arc Pilot. Does it change anything? I think I saw somewhere that you have implemented projects with HF plasma and THCAD300. Could you tell me where exactly those wires should be connected? anyway, if it is necessary to make this cutter work with CNC, I also have PROMA THC 150,

As far as i can tell, there is no pilot arc there, at least not the conventional ones.
Do a test and fire the torch in mid air, does it spark? Meaning without touching material or clamp.
If not, it is a scratch start so requires dragging the torch on the material to start, and if this is the case, not suitable for CNC use.
There might still be an option but it would require programing a component and testing on an actual machine. The component would have to intervene after the torch went down and found the material then do a short wiggle/circle while going up to pierce height, and also the firing of the torch should be done when the material is detected, so before the usual start at pierce height.

i did the test. Does not work in the air.
How do I understand the best option to buy a new plasma cutter for CNC machines with Pilot Arc?
I saw that Stahlwerk CUT 70 with Arc Pilot is not expensive on amazon.de. costs about €450. I saw there was a discussion about this plasma cutter before. is it worth buying it or are there any proven and more profitable cutters?

Stahlwerk, Stamos, even my Kzubr is still working just fine, although mine has been siting idle for nearly 2 months, the rest are in use daily.
Stahlwerk has it's own website, and stuff there is cheaper that on Amazon
Vertical machine torch is from 40-50 usually
www.stahlwerk-schweissgeraete.de/zubehoe...r-p-80-cnc-edelstahl
70A with pilot arc is 450 but currently not available
www.stahlwerk-schweissgeraete.de/plasmas...-cut70-pilotzuendung
Here is the full list of plasma, mind the pilot arc and notice those with pilot arc have another red connector on the lower front.
