Just to make sure I understand you correctly, the Omron model I linked to is (in your opinion) a good product at a good price?

If i could find them locally any time i need them, i would not bother to think about the price.
Just the time wasted to get the parts here costs me much more.

There are quite a few options, sort of makes my head spin. What sort of sensing distance am I looking for?
Would you go with the plug in model, or a short pig tail that you would splice?

select "PNP" type sensors
(NPN types require an external pullup resistor per sensor)
Can you explain this further? I am certain I have NPN prox sensors on my 7i76 (not Ethernet). NBN8-12GM50-E0-V1 Pepperl Fuchs to be specific. But I don’t use resistors. They seem to work. Just want to make sure I didn’t wire them wrong.

Unrelated to your question... what type of connectors and wire are you using on your sensors?
Thanks

I did not buy the sensors there. I actually got them used on eBay for a steal.

I’m not sure I follow what you mean?

Checked my notes from my original build and PCW suggested then to use a 2.2K 1 W resistor which worked from me. Connect from the +24V wire and the output wire.
