Halo phillc54
So I'm a little further along again
When I use volt it works like this:
net plasmas:cut-volts => hm2_7i96s.0.pwmgn.00.value
If I net plasmas:cut-amps => hm2_7i96s.0.pwmgn.00.value
I got the error: pin not found
That's right, I don't have a pin with the names in plasmac
how can I add this to plasmac?

You need to use one of the names from this post:
forum.linuxcnc.org/plasmac/50468-qtplasm...utter?start=0#283780

probably the -f one which is a float.

Edit: I should have mentioned that you will need to net to the qtplasmac pin in a postgui Hal file.

Watching this thread, I was hoping you could do something like this in the gcode to use the configured material amps value (along with the spindle config above):

M3 $0 S#<_hal[plasmac.cut-amps]>

but from linuxcnc.org/docs/html/man/man9/plasmac.9.html it looks like the material's cut-amps is not exposed, but other material properties like cut-volts, cut-feed-rate and cut-height are exposed via the plasmac component.

Is there a reason not to have things like "cut-amps" or "gas-pressure" for the current material exposed via the plasmac component? Is there another way to get to those through HAL so they could be embedded in gcode files?

Thanks!

Scott

All the material parameter pins are exposed by the GUI's qtplasmac component by both a float pin and a s32 pin:
Warning: Spoiler!

This looks like it will work perfectly, thank you!
