Probe basic, Live vs graphical install issues

Hi, I'm following the install page for probe basic found on this forum. If I use the live environment everything works up until the probe basic sim. 
If I actually install the whole thing with the standard graphical install option I can't get past trying to get the required python libraries. I tried with and without updating or upgrading. Nothing works. It just states that libraries are missing or referenced elsewhere and that packages cannot be found.

Why does it work in the live environment and not after i installed it normally? I'm really confused.

Did you do a
sudo apt-get update
?

Yes I have tried with a new install, updating and upgrading. I've also tried without.

Edit: I've installed connected to internet via ethernet instead of configure wifi after installation and now the setup properly downloads and installs the required packages and I can install the pyqt5 required packages from the probe basic installation page as normal.

Guess I'll never attempt another linux install without cables internet again.
