Camview widget
Now that it works, I can answer my opinion.cmorley wrote: By the way would it be useful to display the angle of the cross hairs when rotated?
I would say yes, in case you were setting something up that was skewed and you want to rotate the axis coordinates the same amount.

hi, persei8persei8 wrote: I guess I better ask for a raise, because I did manage to recompile opencv-4.0.0 and the warning messages are gone. So, another feature for qtdragon.
Description of the problem is at github.com/opencv/opencv/issues/9477
How to recompile is at docs.opencv.org/master/d7/d9/tutorial_linux_install.html

It looks exactly the same but you are right, the original doesn't work, but this one does.
Also, it's version 4.4.0, not 4.0.0.
One more edit, the difference is d9f vs. d9, sorry about that.

I did see that. It appears that the problem originates with libjpeg which was last updated in 2008 and the solution is to modify a compile flag and recompile opencv. This is beyond my pay grade, so ... dead end.
Glad I found this post! I'm working on a Gentoo image for LinuxCNC, would like to support camview pretty much out of the box. Luckily, on Gentoo, to enable JPEG support for OpenCV, it's literally just:
I just need the list of dependencies together. Thanks persei8!
OpenCV's JPEG support on Gentoo at least uses libjpeg-turbo for the back-end, and the latest in-tree release of libjpeg-turbo as of this writing is 2.1.4 from August 12 earlier this year.
