I'll be back here in a week to see the poor machine in pieces ! :)
Those accelerations will dismantle everything.
I did push mine to 68m/m with 10m/s/s acc and it just started ripping the belts clean. It worked for about 5 minutes and was fun to watch a 500Kg machine walk all over the shop, but it did not last ! :(

this was something I was thinking in the back of my head myself. with that much force on the acceleration it has to work hard on the connections. so finding a balance between crazy fast and not ripping things apart pushing things to hard is a fine line to define. i think the water sloshing around in the table is a good indicator to keep an eye on :) once things are down off the casters and on the ground starting off slow and working your way up to the brink might not be a bad idea :) it good to know you have the extra there if needed though :)

still fun to watch and impressive regardless :)

You should know that spaceships don't run on rubber bands.

I was going to slow it down but I was told we did not get to the moon by going slow! So the spaceship has to do what the spaceship has to do....

Even if that is just to prove space travel is possible (without loosing a tile or an O ring!)

Wasn't it a rubber part that failed on your table too Tommy?

So I am pleased to say after about 4 years in the making, I finally have the spaceship in a final position and off its casters. We also routed all the air and power down from overhead so there is nothing on the ground to trip over.

We gave it another torture test while cutting on Friday and the boost feature has solved the motors eventually overheating and the motors are much cooler to the touch. But I had an over temperature fault on the top most driver in the control panel. I think it is my fault for placing the drives where the old ones were which meant that drive was being heated by the ones below it which is not per the layout in the Lam manual. More adjustments!

But I had wired the Lam driver fault output to joint.L.amp-fault-in. This basically triggered an estop event and therefore I was unable to recover and continue to cut the file in a complex nest.

Is there an alternative method I could use to halt motion yet still recover?
