Simple router was created by Mr. Mass
After build big machine i decided create the simple small one. Nothing special, just another interpretation of standard router scheme. Main features: maximum ratio of the work area to the overall dimensions, simple assemble, the ability to change the working area over a wide range by changing the length only main alu beams. The frame builded from alu profile 50x50x5mm, the gantry beam from 100x50x6mm profile, the t-slots - 80x20mm. The black parts made from bakelite. The work area is 630x330x130mm, 15mm profile rails on all axes, NSK T-type screws 12mm on all axes, nema 23 motor for the Y-axis (along the table) and nema 17 for the X and Z axis, 800w 24k rpm standard spindle.
The mechanical part is done, time for electronics assembly.

Thank you, I tried to build this machine as clean as possible.
I'm finished now, but not without small issues. The electronic enclosure created by sketching turned out to be very dense and the assembly was a little tricky. Another issue was computer. It have very compact design with MTASA SSD onboard and +12V power supply and fit perfectly. But old intel D2550 have not good latency. I tried many version linux with different kernels and best result was something around 40k base thread. Not much, but big screw pitch 12.7mm made it possible to get 7200mm/min rapids, what a good result for me.
Finally add some PVC covers for more clean look.
I collected all the photos here - ibb.co/album/35bgJ8
Eventually I gained a lot of new experience and skills working on this machine and I have a lot of plans about next CNC. Maybe it will be something 4-axis or even 5-axis machine.

WOW that looks clean. Out of curiosity why did you make the Z axis belt drive?

Thanks. I did the Z axis belt drive for a more compact placement. With direct drive it turns out much higher and doesn't look in good proportion in my look.

nice . I had to modify one of the machines I use at work because for some reason the manufacturer decided it was ok to
use the bearings in the stepper motor to control Z axis thrust loads. The below picture was my solution to it.

I'll dust off an old topic and share a short video of my first work on this machine.
