@tommylight No, everything is german if I didn't miss anything
@RotarySMP They just attached adjustable cams to a bar, pretty standard I guess

That is nice that they used switches. Schaublin embeded Hall sensors into the bed of the 125-CNC. I hope they dont fail.

I finally managed to get all the parts & wiring done. Settled with a 7I97T and a 7I84 controlled by a Raspberry Pi.
Crazy to think that the little Pi is probably 10x more powerful than the huge Siemens controller.
I implemented the tool changer via classicladder and it really works like a charm, pretty happy with it.
Now I just have to tune the PIDs for the servos and I can run some test parts. The Fusion360 CAM section for turning looks way simpler than for milling, pretty much just 4 operations, so I think I'll pick this up quickly.

Hi Klopp,
great project.
I have exactly the same lathe and the problem that the siemens control has an defect since today. Is it possible that you can share more details (electrical scheme, configuration files for mesa cards, ...) from your project so that it is possible for me to do the same.

Hello Klopp an ProG.
I'm also in the same situation to retrofit a Weiler 160 CNC. I'm very interested in the LCNC config files and also the classicladder for the turret. Can you help me with these files?

Hello.
I hope it's ok if i use this Thread for my questions. I've the same machine with same hardware (Turret, Encoder, Heldt&Rossi, Baumüller, Sinumerik etc.) and doing actually the retrofit with 7i97t and 7i84u.
My first question is... I need a enable signal for X and Z on the Heldt&Rossi amplifiers. (see picture)
I would connect PIN 19 to ENA0+ and PIN 10 to ENA0- on the 7i97t. Am I right that this would work?

Is there any indication what /STV stands for? Do you have something that makes you think that's the enable? If it is, then it is shown permananently wired, which seems a little unexpected.
I think you have the polarity right.
I am not clear if that (19) 15V is an output or not, but a multimeter would answer that question.

STV is Zero Speed Command and RS is General Lock. Both signals are necessary for the servos.
But I also just see, my question was false. I want to switch signal 19 over the Mesa and ENA. With the old Sinumerik signal 10 (on both amplifiers) is switched with a safety relay and signal 19 (as far as I can see) is switched separately. The 15V is auxiliary voltage from the amplifier. I've already measured this. Therefore I think I can connect 19 to ENAx+ and 14 to ENAx-.
