Yes I made the same assumption hence a smiling face in my last post
I know with parallel ports, pins are limited and I know some might disagree with me but implementing the full linuxcnc paradigm requires home switches. Leaving them out never makes sense to me.

From what i can gather the OP has no homing switches, or something not right there.

My machine has never had homing switches, I have been working with linuxcnc for almost 3 years. I have not encountered any problems and I am very happy. Now I wanted to add this feature as well. Programmed in the new way, the code executes everything without a problem and does exactly what I expect.

I do have several machines with no switches working perfectly for several years, some users find that much easier than dealing with offsets.
