Teco FM50 and Mesa 7i77

So I wired up my Teco VFD to 7i77
7i77 pin 21 ENA5- -> Inverter 3 (FWD)
7i77 pin 22 ENA5+ -> Inverter 6 (+12V)
7i77 pin 23 GND -> Inverter 10 ( 0V)
7i77 pin 24 AOUT5 -> Inverter 9 (MVI)
And I got the spindle to turn on in Linuxcnc but no reverse and I can't control the spindle speed up and down.
Any suggestions on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks Mike

Did you measure the AOUT5 pin as you set various speeds
to verify that the scaling is correct?

Don't know how to do that.

1. set spindle on and speed 1/2 of full speed
2. (assuming 10V is full speed) check that you have 5V on AOUT

I'm not getting any volts at all.
Should there be another wire on the VFD? [attachment=25814]15871649155995057958970318230092.jpg

Is red AOUT5? if so you are shorting the analog out to ground

No it's black and goes to vi on the VFD.

Was the spindle enabled?
What was the spindle speed?

When you have LinuxCNC running and the spindle
enabled and set to 1/2 speed can you post the results of

halcmd show all | grep spin

(typed in a terminal window)

Ok I started up the spindle and the speed doesn't change until you hit 0% it stops.
I had to take pictures of the Hal file, my internet isn't working in the garage.

Notice that you are commanding a negative spindle speed?
This will likely not work with the TECO as it probably expects 0 to 10V
_not_ -10 to +10

So to test further, select a positive spindle speed

If the TECO VFD is 0 to 10V you will need to connect the spindle
to the absolute RPM pin in hal rather than the signed RPM pin
