Hermle UWF 700 Getriebeschaltung

LG Leo

 Hello everyone and merry Christmas.

I have a Hermle UWF700 CNC milling machine BJ 1980 and converted it to LinuxCNC with a Mesa 7i77. So far, most things have worked (move axes, spindle R/L, all IO's,...)

However, the gearshift presents me with a major challenge. This has 18 speeds, which are set via 3 DC motors. (Similar to Mark/RotarySMP) He created a Gearchange.comp for this, but it doesn't fit 100% to my machine.
Here is the .comp for Mark's Maho: github.com/rotarysmp/mh400e-linuxcnc

Now I need your help because I'm reaching the limit of my programming skills here. Is it possible to adapt this component or does it make sense to write a new one?

Regarding the course of the switching process: If a speed change is required, the contactor K24 should be activated and K25 and K26 alternately should allow the spindle to turn right/left at a slow speed so that the gear wheels can be engaged better. Then the 3 DC motors should be brought into the correct position one after the other. (K32 - K37).

I would be very grateful for your help. I'm attaching a PDF of the machine's schematic. If you need more information, please just write.

Until then, happy holidays and thanks in advance.

LG Leo

I have seen the Maho .comp move the spindle back and forth, so I think that it can do that part.
So, I would start by looking at the Maho comp (ie as used by Rotary SMP) rather than starting from scratch.

Hey, thanks for your Reply!

could you help me what and how i have to change in the comp?

One big difference is, that my machine has one relais for turn right and one relais for turn left for each motor (in total 6). The Maho comp has three relais for the three motors and one relais for changing direction of all motors.

Also there is one more contactor (k24) , that has to be activated while gearchange.

thanks for your help

It does look a little more complex than I had imagined as the gearbox.comp includes (and depends on functions in) some other .c and .h files. But if you take it one step at a time it should be OK.

First add some extra output pins to the .comp file to handle your own relays (leave the existing ones there too, so that the system still compiles) then add those to the "twitch" function and get them doing the right things. Once that looks OK you can look into removing the oriignal pins.

Hi Leo!
Toller Zufall!
