Hurco KM3P servos was created by BenDiesel
So I got a package deal on 2 hurco KM3P and a haas tm1. It was take all.or none and I dont have the room for the hurco. After them sitting for sale at the usal.sites I sold the tooling and the spindle off as no one wanted them. So I'm particularly g out the stuff I want and scrapping the rest.
So I now have 6 of thease DC brushed servo and none of them have their data stickers complete.
So I'm wondering if any one knows what they are and their specs? Because I have them allready I'm debating on using them as servos on a cnc plasma table with a 7i54
I'm keeping allot more then just the servos but this is what I'm having a hard time identifying.
Thanks

Looks like brushed DC servos, remove the end cap and check for a tacho generator and what type of encoder they have.
That should be a starting point.

Ya I did notice there are 4 big brushes and 2 smaller ones. There are 4 wires that go Into the motor. It seems one goes to each of the 4 big brushes. After taking the servo controll boards out of the cabnet I noticed a large cap that said 150v. Also found the drawing fornthe motor assembly but it only gives hurco part numbers.

Looks like normal single ended incremental encoders, so that should be easy.
The 4 wires should be two thicker ones for the motor, thinner ones for the tacho, easy to test, use a 5-12V DC power supply or cordless tool battery and test the two thicker leads=the motor should turn, test the thinner leads by just touching instantly=the motor should not move. Do be careful with a battery and test by only touching the wires for a split second, it does not take much to burn the coils on the tacho, depending on their resistance some will happily do nothing while powered with 12V.
Motor wires you can keep on as long as you like on a battery.

Well the encoders say 5v on them so ya they would fry.
The servo controll unit has a info sticker saying 90v 15amp continues and 20amp.max giving it approx 1350w or about 2hp. The machine was rated at 250ipm and the lead screw is 6tpi giving it about 1500rpm. Looks like I'll need a couple 7i29 to run the motors.

I never mentioned encoders regarding testing, those are known from the picture you provided.
Tacho is something else....

Ok sorry for the confusion. What is the tacho used for? I did notice there are 4 big brushes and 2 small brushes. I figured the big ones were for driving the motor and the small ones the tacho?

That should be correct.
