RPi image (MESA eth)

Looking for image of latest LCNC/Debian that works! The one on the download page is not working well!

Installed it hangs, no keyboard from boot to next, static IP impossible to set etc....

Just an hour ago I downloaded www.linuxcnc.org/iso/linuxcnc-2.8.1-pi4.zip
Installed: All fine! Latency ca 22k.
Before I had the pi4 updated with latest 32 bis full-upgrade. And set to usb boot.

I run m2 ssd, xrdp and/or local 1024/768 hdmi screen with usb-bluetooth mini keyboard.
AXIS sim runs very nice and slim.
All just for interest, no real hw in mind.

Sorry to say but this image has serious problems on my RPi.
NO ETH0 = will not accept STATIC 10.10.10.11
Funny behaviour on USB ports

Using my old config with mate with USB boot and USB works OK with Touch and I can run xhc-whb04b-6 -ue

How did you try to config eth0. A lot around network configuration changed. You have to do in dhcpd.conf direct in /etc...

Tried all ways

Obviously there is also this USB issue on RPi4 4GB.
Had some glitches on my old MATE config during the day.

Pie4 is overheating = can not handle needed power on ports. Alu case for cooling.
Installed external powered USB hub and it looks like the heat issue is gone.

Ask Andy how he configures eth0. Have not tried to connect a Mesa to the pi, gave it only 10min yesterday evening so I can not speak about that. But I think his lcnc is based on latest raspbian and that does not support old way of etc/interfaces anymore.

I remember that heat was a problem on first sw. Have you tried to upgrade to newest bios? And enabled booting from usb?

Will not go the Debian road for now.

I have it (Mate) working and now fighting with MPG hal having issues to get encoder in and out to drivers.

Sorry don't understand. Do you mean that you stay on the older pi-version, with runs for you?
And yes if something works, why upgrading? I always : What's your pain that you have to upgrade (.... to new, unknown problems....) ;-()

I had some issues (and still have) but it got worse with the new Debian/2.8.1

So better to run my Mate that I compiled last year, all updated. This is the first time I have a USB MPG (xhc-lhb04-6) it the fixed USB variant of (xhc-whb04b-6)

Trying to wrap my head around the needed hal but can not get it to work.
In test mode all buttons etc work just fine.
