halcompile-ing a kinematics module: "waiting for component..."

Hi
I know I have successfully done this before but now cannot for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong!
I want to modify a kinematics module, and as a start simply renamed 5axiskins.c to 5axiskins2.c. Then I did
from the directory containing it, and received a confirmatory message that the 5axiskins2.so had been added to the usual library, which I checked it had.
However when I add it to the ini as the [KINS] module, simply adding a 2 to the 5axiskins already there, linuxcnc starts up but gets stuck in a "waiting for component" loop for the 5axiskins2 module.
Any clues as to my mistake?
Cheers!

Never mind, there were just some parameters that needed updating inside the source file. Sorted now!
