How to install halcompile

I installed linuxcnc on my Raspberry Pi 4 and it works fine using mesa 7c81.
It seems that halcompile is not installed, so I am trying to install it, but it does not work.
I found some similar writings so I tried them but it doesn't work.
I have little knowledge about programming, so I don't know if it's difficult to say, but I'd like to make my own hal component.
Please tell me the solution as clearly as possible.

Below is the error I am facing

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ sudo apt-get install linuxcnc-dev

When you start LinuxCNC at the top border there is the version of it and a 4 digit number after pre1,
Try to find that same number here something like
linuxcnc-uspace-dev_2.8.0~pre1.XXXX.................._armhf.deb
buildbot.linuxcnc.org/dists/buster/2.8-rtpreempt/binary-armhf/
And use gdebi to install.
This might not work as you are using a non real time kernel with ARMV and this is made for ARMHF architecture.
What Raspberry ?

Ooops, it seems you have a compiled version from git and that does not show the build number.
But that also means you should be able to install the dev version the same way.

It took a very long time due to lack of knowledge.
I can use halcompile .

cd /home/pi/
sudo apt-get install python-serial
sudo dpkg -i linuxcnc-uspace-dev_2.8.0~pre1_armhf.deb

Thank you

I have been trying to install halcompile as well. Pi 4, with Linuxcnc preempt rt 2.8.0 Debian 10 from linuxcnc.org/iso/linuxcnc-2.8.0-pi4.zip

Following the above example fails with: "dpkg: error: cannot access archive 'linuxcnc-uspace-dev_2.8.0~pre1_armhf.deb': No such file or directory"

same problem with sudo dpkg -i linuxcnc-uspace-dev_2.8.0_armhf.deb.

any help would be appreciated.

I would expect halcompile to already be installed.

If not:

sudo apt-get install linuxcnc-uspace-dev

Should download and install it.
