Need help for select mesa boards

Hello LINUXCNC user,
I have a 5i25 with 7i76 working very well on my machine.
Now I recive a 7i52 to connect some encoders to make a close loop system for my 5 axis machine and find out, I can not connect this board to my exist 5i25.
Please tell me, withch board I have to Change.

How many encoders do you need to connect? The 7i85 would be the DB25 port equivalent of the 7i52, but it only supports 4 encoders. To use the 7i52 you would need to get a mesa board that supprts it like a 5i24, but to use the 7i76 with a 5i24 you would also need an adapter store.mesanet.com/index.php?route=produc...rt=p.price&order=ASC

Remember the 7i76 has one encoder input as well. (and there might be the possibility of using 2 or 3 of the RS422 inputs on a 7i85 to read an encoder (would take a custom firmware). I'd suggest talking to Peter to get his opinion on your best solution..
