I have a 7I96 mesa board working since some years, but I change a little the wiring and made a mistakes.
I made a shortcircuit between TB1 PIN 24 (5V) and the TB3 PIN 12 (24V).
There where some smoke...

The card still answer to LinuxCnC, but "Home" does not works anymore (The stepper motors does not move anymore)
Whith the Hal metter it seem's that the input works...

Do you thinks the card is out off order, or maybe only one a part of the TB1 ? (I need only 3 steeper motor control...)

How can I test simply the stepper motor control ?

Thanks

The most likely parts to be damaged are the ACT parts as they connect to
5V and have the lowest overvoltage rating.

These include the 74ACT540 (U4) and 74ACT541 (U7) that drive
the step/dir outputs 0..3 and the 74ACT04s that drive step/dir 4 and the
isolated outputs (U3,U8,U16)

Thanks for reply
If I understand that mean the card is no more usable...
Do you confirm?

Well its probably fixable for someone with access to SMT repair
equipment. The parts are less than $1.50 or so
