Wanted to share an experience I had with a 7C80 I recently bought.
Using Mesaflash version 3.4.0 Pre, trying to flash the bit file gave me the error :
Error: BootSector is Invalid
I emailed Mesa about this error ,and was told that the newer 7C80's have a 32M flash chip, which requires mesaflash 3.4.0 (not 3.4.0 Pre). Several things about this are worth noting to me:
1. I emailed Mesa at 330pm, and had a reply from them by 515pm on the SAME DAY. That's fantastic support, and they deserve a shout out for it.
2. Hopefully this helps others with newer 7C80 boards avoid the same issues I encountered.
Thanks,
Travis

Somehow i still think i am not mentioning this often enough:
Mesa has the best support on planet earth, bar none!
-
Disclaimer:
I am in no way, shape or form affiliated with Mesa.
What makes this even more important coming from me, anything made by Mesa costs me at least twice the normal price due to some issues in my country, still i wholeheartedly stand by the above statement.
I have over 40 or 50 of their boards in use, another 15 or more in a suitcase, never ever had a single hiccup!
To quote the movie "Equilibrium" at the very end: I pay it gladly!
