There are some Mesa 7i96S on eusurplus in Portugal, it is similar to 7i76E, but has less I/O and not sure about the analog spindle control.
It has expansion ports, IDC26 and RS422/485, so more I/O is as easy as adding a 7i84 through a UTP/LAN cable.

If you add a 7i84 to the 7i96S you add 32 inputs and 16 outputs to the 7i96S
The 7I96S is a Ethernet connected motion control interface designed for interfacing up to 5 Axis of step&dir step motor or servo motor drives. Step rates up to 10 MHz are supported. The 7I96S also has 11 isolated inputs plus 6 isolated outputs for general purpose I/O use. A high speed encoder interface is provided for spindle synchronized motion and an isolated analog spindle output allows spindle speed control . A RS-422/RS485 serial port and a parallel port are provided for I/O expansion .

I should have some 7i84 stock in a few weeks I think.
