Hello friend , please to meet you all !
I have a CMS waterjet and I would like your help on what to buy on MESA.net  site to make a working machine like it is suppose to be , i would like to keep the original drive ( SLVD2 parker with parker servo motor and resolver , and a compatible linuxcnc board with a lot of IO and axis7 the capacity of feed back to linuxcnc for the real positionning. (Absolute like encoder ) =14.0pxLet me know what is the best working and compatible setup you would sugest to me ! A link for the parker drive info .Best regards ,Fred

After a quick peek at the drive specs is has + - 10V analog input for servo control.

It also mentions a real time CanBus control as well but not sure without reading all the details if that may also be used for speed/position control.

You mention resolvers as well as absolute encoders. Please clarify which type that you wish to use for position feedback.

Hello Bari , the servo motor are equipped with resolver , I can't cut with it but the machine work fine and the position is kept all the time , if you push the Estop the drive are desactivated , you can push with your hand the bridge yaxis and you can move it and the position is in real time moving like absolute encoder , the reason of the retrofit is I can't export gcode for the machine it use propriatary iso files to work and the CMS industry is not very helpfull so I am willing to change the control to make it compatible with gcode files. The drive use Step & direction input for position control and 24 Volt to actived and i assume RS422/485 communication for the feed back positionning.

If you get position feedback when the drives are disabled, I suspect they are running in analog velocity mode with simulated encoder feedback from X3

Hello PCW , thank you for your answer and what is my option to make it work with linux CNC ?

Thank you !

Using Mesa hardware, I would suggest a 7I92TM+7I77,
but I would first verify than the drives are indeed setup for
analog velocity mode, that is, if the drives analog input was
connected to the controller.

Are you sure it has resolvers?
Not something you want to guess.

I have confirm with the data sheet and servo number , resolver it is .

Drive spec and encoder simulation RS-422 steps/rev 4...2500mode it is !

Power Supply V~ 230 ± 10%
Control Voltage V= 24 ± 10%, 1 A
Models SLVD2
Rated Output Current A 2,5
Peak Output Current (4 s) A 5
Internal Braking Resistor
Feedback resolver (speed 1)
Power Stage Switching Frequency kHz 8
Maximum Output Fundamental
Frequency Hz 450
Protection IP 20
24 V Digital Inputs No 2+2
24 V / 100Ma / PNP Digital Outputs No 2
Encoder Simulation RS-422 steps/rev 4...2500
Frequency / sign or Encoder Input kHz 800 / 200
Analogue Reference V ±10 differential
Auxiliary Analogue Input V ±10 differential
Auxiliary Analogue Output V ± 4,5
Serial link RS-422 / RS-485
Field bus CanBus ISO/DIS11898

I have just bought the 7i96S and the 7i77 card will it work ? or i need the 7i92MT?

Thank you for your help !!

Info in the manual.
The SLVD is equipped with a RS-422/RS-485 serial interface which is used to configure, monitor, and send commands to up to 32 SLVDs at the same time. Standard operator panels can be connected to support the SBC protocol.
A CanBus interface is also available which can be used in communication mode and also in real time mode. The CanBus can be used to set up a wide-band digital link, thereby simplifying the cabling of the system.
The following functions have been implemented in the basic software of the SLVD:
• Speed controller
• Advanced manager of torque limits
• Management of speed windows
• Carries out positioning with a trapezoidal speed profile
• Provides the functions of an electrical shaft with variable ratio and phase correction
• Provides the functions of an electronic cam
• Simulates a stepper motor
• Controls the motor torque with the addition of speed control
• The internal PLC can be programmed to manage inputs and outputs
