Dear Colleges
Recently I get a junked EDM machine, this is a robofill 200 I guess charmiles
The machine mechanically is complete, but the control send a lot errors. I ask to person that know itit and say this machine was good, but now is old and obsolete.
So, I am thinking this is a good chance to use LCNC and make it back to work again,
but I will need some help to go work in this direction.
I understood the EDM 5 axis control on the motion axis topic, that is really similar as a foam 5 axis cutter,
This have 5 axis . X,U, Y, V, and Z, Looking deep on this machine,
I found that the motors can be replaced easily for a new ones I guess some mounting plate will be need to make ti adapt the new servos
My first question, Is about the motion group what technology to use?
The old and reliable Mesa card + pulse and direction servos
OR
Ethercat AC servos
Or
ethercat hybrid steeper motor?
Please advise what technology can be fine
My Second Question, I found linear scales form heidenhain I found by part numbers that are analog linear scales and after goes a module and after to control, I wonder to know If LCNC can control this linear scales
My 3rd question, is About the pulse generator that is new for me, I feel this is like the torch control on plasma cutter , but instead control the height , that control as adaptive feed to avoid machine breaks the cutting wire. Well over this topic I do not have a clue yet, I been reading some documents , so now I start to understand how it works but now I would like to know if I can control this pulse generator or not. Or if need to find another one that helps me to complete this topic about the pulse generator.
My 4th question, is about the wire spool control as well what is better, normal motor,AC servo or hybrid stepper motor 1 or 2 motors , wire tension control.
and about other stuff like pumps and etc. I think they can be controlled easily.
