5i25 not reflecting in the PNCCONF was created by CNCSREEDHAR2016
HII,
I tried installing a Linux CNC. Whilst settting up the PNCCONF, I could not find the 5i25 for selection. But I had still not mounted this board onto the Motherboard PCI slot yet.
So is it necessary that this board be mounted prior to the set up. Please advice

No, you can use pncconf before you have even bought the hardware. It does no card checking or enumeration (at the moment, at least, as far as I know)

In the 2.7.x version of linuxcnc pncconf should show 5i25-internal data
Hopefully one of those firmwares is what your card is programmed to.
No released version of pncconf actually checks for cards - i have a version that does but needs some thought on ease of use.
