Problem with 5I25 and 7I77 was created by Holzwurm56
Hello,
I want to control my wood cnc machine with a mesa 5I25 and a 7I77. I want to use the pncconf for the configuration, i select the 5i25 and 7i77x2 1x7i77. I can select 4 encoder, but when i want to select 4 pwmgens the display returns allways to zero.
Pncconf creates no [HOSTMOT2] in the ini-file. I write this section by hand.
When I start linuxcnc i think the 5i25 and the7i77 are correct recogniced the green led is blinking.
I want to test the encoderconnection anf move the axis from hand but the dro shows no moving.
I measure the voltage on encoderconnector pin 3 and 6, there are only 4Volt, maybe its to low for the encoder(ROD426)
Can someone help me
Hans

The PWMs referred to on the first config screen are not the ones used for the analog outs on the 7i77. They are for ones that would be created in the FPGA card. The ones used for the 7i77 are created in one of the smart serial parts of the 7i77, and will show up later in Pncconf, after it creates the tabs for configuring the smart serial connections on the daughter cards.
I'm not sure about your second question about "no [HOSTMOT2] section". While my machine's config using a 7i77 does have a [HOSTMOT2] section, there is nothing in it that isn't commented out. So it may not be necessary with 5i25 configurations.
