Looks like I asked the question as wrong topic. Hopefully somebody can answer how to get the spindle working.

Cheers

Peter, is it possible to get my secondary spindle running with Spinx1? 7i76e_7i76x1_7i85sx1D.bit is used now.

Cheers
Bengt

Probably, What you would need is a config that steals one of the 7I85S's step dir outputs and uses it for
PWM, Ideally you would have 3 outputs (PWM/DIR/ENA) free for the SPINX1

Another option is to use one of those inexpensive Chines 5 axis breakout boards with Analog out:

www.ebay.com/i/152695794698?rt=nc
and connect it to the unused 7I76e expansion connector

OK thanks Peter,

How would this be done in HAL for this secondary spindle?
El-cheapo is OK with me need only to have start stop and variable speed for the spindle.

Peter, can you share some knowledge on how to implement this in HAL

This requires a custom bit file that has a PWM generator (perhaps on the second expansion connector)
hal wise It requires setting up the PWM generators scaling to match the spindles RPM ay full speed and the
PWMs, mode and frequency to what the SPINX1 needs (man hostmot2)

Assuming this bit file is also needed if going with the Chinese BoB as you suggested earlier?

Yes, the same configuration could do both
