test tune servo was created by Sourabh3
i have installed linuxcnc 2.8.2 version. i am retrofitting a deckel maho which used to work but the controller died and i had to replace it with new controller. i am using 6i25+7i77+7i84 combination. i have plugged them in and the green leds are up as stated by their respective manuals.(CR15 with 1hz frequency and other power leds). The indramat and the brushed servos work fine when using a external battery for analog command.

The problem is with pncconf. when i open the test and tune servo axis, a lot of hal windows open for analog out and encoder inputs. the linear encoder works fine and changes values when the axis is moved manually. but when i try to run servos , i get the following error. also, there is some active voltage(around 0.5v) in analog out pin of TB5, hence the motors start to run as soon as they are plugged in the mesa cards (even when red led CR16 is on). Also i get message "Servo tuning is not tested in PNCconf yet" when i click on test and tune servo.

Never used Pncconf for tuning, so search for "servo tuning detailed howto", has plenty of info on wiring and tuning with Mesa 7i77.

then how did you create the hal and ini files for your machine?

Used PncConf to make a config with axis and encoder setup, everything else i do by editing hal and ini files.

i tried it your way, but i get an error "hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.1.analogout0-scalemax not found". i tried using mesa flash and loading 5i25-7i77x2 bit file too. But i can't understand the real problem. i can see the encoders working in the hal gui. Just can't get the analog out terminals sorted.

"hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.1.analogout0-scalemax not found"

Indicates a problem with 5I25 <-> 7I77 communications

Is 5V ok on the 7I77?

Is 7I77 W4 in the left hand position?

so the servos move absolutely fine in the ope loop mode, i can jog them easily. but when i click on test/tune axis, i still get a message like "servo tuning not tested in pncconf yet". and when i click ok and enable the axis i still get an error message as attached below.

I think I see the error. I'll confirm tonight after work. Thank you.
