PnCConf and Linear Encoders

Hi guys, I've got my Mesa hardware and I'm not starting on the configuration and wiring for my Wotan horizontal boring mill. My mill does not have motor encoders, just linear ones. PncCConf seems setup for rotary encoders as I see it asking for resolution per rotation, etc etc... How would I configure that for a linear encoder system?

You would just set the encoder scale to the linear scales
count per inch or mm value.
