MPG issue on Mesa 7I77 was created by Alloy Craft
HI guys, I am trying to set up a MPG pendant into ports 16 an 17 on a Mesa 7i77, I have the 7I77 set to mode 3 as per the manual. The MPG has the standard 3x travel increment modes and 4x axis select rotary switches. I can see all of the switch states change in hal monitor as well as encoder counts go up and down correctly but the axis will not move with the MPG before or after homing the machine. The problem I think may be that Pnc points the enables to joints a, b and c, however as far as I can tell there is no relation between those joints and the axis they are supposed to be connected to in the Hal file?

I guess pncconf doesn't know how to connect the jog counts to motions jog inputs
something like:
net jog-all-axis hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.0.enc0.count axis.x.jog-counts axis.y.jog-counts axis.y.jog-counts
(assuming you have one MPG and you select the axis to jog by only enabling jogging on one axis at a time)
something like:
net jog-all-axis hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.0.enc0.count axis.x.jog-counts axis.y.jog-counts axis.y.jog-counts
(assuming you have one MPG and you select the axis to jog by only enabling jogging on one axis at a time)

Ahh, I think this did the trick. I changed
net joint-select-a <= hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.0.input-06
to
net axis-select-x <= hm2_5i25.0.7i77.0.0.input-06
Seems to be working now, thanks.
