3D printers and stuff related to them or made on them! was created by tommylight
Last two months besides working on the new shop, i managed to hoard 8 new 3D printers made by Creality at some silly low prices, roughly:
Creality Ender 5 plus for 447 Euro
Creality CR-X dual extruder for 253 Euro
Creality CR-10S PRO V2 for 253 Euro
Creality CR-5 PRO two of them for 263 Euro each
Creality CR-10 MAX three of them for 263 Euro each
I needed to print a small box for a single arduino, i swear !!!
If i can manage the time i plan on converting one of the CR-10 MAX to LinuxCNC or even better, build a new one something like the VORON or HevOrt, both are Core-XY type and can move at ridiculous speeds due to the low mass of moving parts.
On the brighter side of things, most of them spent some 4 or 5 days printing parts for drag chains/cable chains and earlier i did print some motor holders and idler mounts for a printer made out of 45X45 Bosch alu profiles, not those puny 20X20 ones.
Nuff talk, pictures:
If anyone is interested in more of this let me know.

I was thinking about getting a new lathe or a 3d printer it was the lathe then.
When she is running I will start to think 4th axis for my mill or a 3d printer.
Why can‘t I just put a printing head in the toll holder of my mill. This would be perfect and a big ass 3d printer too. WIth way to much power consumption.
What lead to the desitions not buying one is printing time. But one day when I have enough time for all my projects...
Till then I simply watch here

A few years ago I bought a 3D printer, the cheapest on eBay at £200, as a "toe-dipping" exercise to learn what I really wanted in a 3D printer.
I am still using the same one.
I have found it really useful for 3D printing foundry patterns, as things like loose parts and support parts are really easy to design and print.
One example:
Lathe steady, original in the left, 3D printed patterns in the middle, castings on the right.
And the finished part.

Two things i noticed lately:
Andy has a 3D printer, seen it on a picture yesterday with rolls of filament, and now openly admitting it !
And 3D printers are used a lot in small/home/shop foundries, frankly that is magnificent.
It has gone far from printing only vases and small toys, and that was the main reason i still have plenty of parts to build at least 2 of quite big 3D printers all over the shop but i never did that. Back then a search for 3d printed would come back pretty much empty handed.
