Anyone interested in a 16x40 CNC Lathe? It was a Knuth Servoturn 410 NC lathe. I hated the PLC/Control that was on it so a LinuxCNC retrofit was started. The retrofit is not finished (look at the operators panel) but it does run, and it made quite a few parts for us.
Please contact me soon if interested, it has to be moved very soon. I really do not want to send it to the scrap-yard.
It is currently located at:
Lansing Machine Services Inc. (Closing)
425 Network Station
Chesapeake Va. 23320

How much?
I believe you should sell for scrap price.
The incentive to sell comes from the fact that you don't have to haul it to the scrap yard.
Also, the scrap yard will almost certianly resell it as a lathe.
Scrap it in good condition if it comes to that.
(I am not interested in purchasing it)

Did this end up selling? I'm asking because I found it on marketplace in Canada, I did a search and found it here after I replied to the ad, seemed fishy. Thanks

Was the scrap yard AIM (American Iron and Metal)?
AIM is a Canadian company.
Scrap yard usually resell working machinery as machnery to make extra money (and help the environment).

It was just some guy selling it. With a new Facebook profile, once I saw the images were identical to the ones here it was a red flag. He says he has people interested today. He hasn't asked for a deposit so might be legit after all.

Perhaps he bought it from a scrap yard.

FYI The lathe sold to a Company in North Carolina. We had it on our Auction site and it sold for $3K. Just another huge loss for our company. But when you are going belly-up it's just the way it is.
