Independent dual spindle router? was created by chrisfischer
I tried searching but didnt come up with anything. How hard would it be to configure a 3 axis cnc router with dual spindles that move independently. Similar to this 3d printer.
Ideally the change would happen with a tool change g code.
Thanks.

As long as you do not want to move them both independently at the same time that is not overly difficult.
I would tend to use switchable kinematics as that would give you XYZ axes for both modes. Park the spindle in use and switch over to the other, can all be done from inside gcode.

I made this sim config for a 3 spindle router using switchable kinematics:
forum.linuxcnc.org/10-advanced-configura...y-and-control#292336
You would also need separate X or Y but it should show the general idea.
