Results of an old ASUS AT5MNI board: Got unexpected realtime delays even with base thread interval at 100'000! also the passive cooler on the board got very hot. So I guess, not useable at all.

That might still be usable for running a Mesa board, be it PCI or PCI-E or Eth.
LinuxCNC does not stress the PC as much as latency histogram does, so there will be less heat, but at the risk of having a bit worse latency than the histogram showed. Still usable, as it seems from the results.

If, I would add a fan. The board has but one pci slot available. So it would be either pci or through an additional Nic eth. hang on to next post :-)

This a test for a Fujitsu esprimo 920. There are no expansion slots that would allow for an LPT to be added. So there is only a serve thread. The machine has a ton of bios options available to play. For this run I just switched off everything that seemed suspicious to impair latency. The system felt really responsive, the most responsive I've tested so far.

Not shabby at all ! Thanks to PCW who mentioned this as a very nice LinuxCNC PC.
Beware of the power brick, quad cores come with 180W power supply that is big and heavy ! :)

Your machine seems to work on swap: "Swap useage: prerun: 16732, running: 27432" Add ram! Add 2 ram bars of same size. I would not go under 4GiB.

I am way out of my depth but have got confused. I am running test at moment and these are the results I am getting
    Max Interval & Max Jitter
    Servo 1ms , -- 10,571,476 , & 9,571,476
    Base 25 , --- 30,648,909 , & 30,623,909
    Do these make sense?

    Edit
Having now read the topic on latency it would appear this machine is not suitable? When I first ran the test it was about 20,000 and I thought ok as it compared with the list of machines that are ok. Having set up the Ethernet to be onboard could that have upset the apple cart?
