Brother TC-225 / TC-229 adventure!
stal wrote: please tell me if you keep the original spindle motor ? and how you drive this ?
I intend to keep the servo-motors and drives. I'm going to interface this with a mesa 7i97 (iirc, I don't yet grok the mnemonic behind mesa card numbers...)
I found the pinout of the 20pin servo connectors somewhere, it seems it is something like 1..Vout 2..GND 3..A+ 4..A- 5..B- 6..B+ 7..Z- 8..Z+. Didn't figure out the rest yet.

i look for c2000 delta but ...all is for 3 phase
any ideea?

The input stage on many drives is just a bridge rectifier to DC bus caps. Unless there is phase-loss detection circuitry the drive does not even know that it is running from single phase.
Admittedly many drives do have phase-loss detection.

I did not have the courage to power this driver before documenting myself first.
I love this brother ...i worked hard for good mechanics but I'd like to keep the spindle motor, however I do not know what chance I have of doing that in a single phase. Wouldn't it be better for me to look for a VFD? In this case, which model should I pick?
In reply to @rmu : I think you have taken the pinout from the Kitamura Mycenter mill, but there are some differences. In the brother motor there's a single cable being output and it contains both resolver and encoder signals that enter the CN3 spindle driver. In this case, the second connector (CN2), which indeed has 20 pins , would be the one shown on the spindle amplifier page of the Kitamura mill manual.

stal wrote: what type of driver have you?
i have SANYO DENKI “BL Super” Servo Amplifier 20BA150FFWB0D
just like this
Mine looks identical.
in my workshop I have 1phase 220v...this driver is with 3 phase.
Is possibile to use this in 1 phase?
I don't think you need 3 phase power, the servo amp works off a DC bus anyways.
My machine is wired for 380V 3 phase and has a big beefy transformer that says 6kVA, 3/1 phases, 415/380V primary, 210/200/200/100 secondary, 50/60 Hz, datecode 1988.8 by yoshikawa elec.
Didn't figure out the wiring yet, the cabinet is not really accessible at the moment.

I got the pinout from some blurry picture from some other forum, but can't find it at the moment. It is the pinout of the connection between control and servo amplifier for X-Y-Z axis. Didn't have a look at spindle control yet.

have Brother TC-321 with similar Spindle drive 20BA150FFWB2. All axes and spindle connected to motherboard with 20 pin connectors. Axes and spindle shares the same connector pinout:
20 pin > 7i77 connector
1 > (TB5)24 AOUT
2 > (TB5)23 GND
3 > (TB4)17 QA5
4 > (TB4)18 /QA5

6 >(TB4)21 /QB5
7 >(TB4)20 IDX5
8 >(TB4)21 /IDX5
15 >(TB5)22 ENA5+
16 >(TB5)21 ENA5-
17 - + 24V
18 - Alarm out

TM1
P.S.
As usual Brother manuals with mistakes. So in one place voltage labeled as SM1 in other CN1.
