couldn't find mesaflash on my linuxcnc machine. downloaded it from Mesa, but it is windows, so i booted my windows machine, and tried the command, but it didn't like it. i did manage this though, if it is the correct info.

in all honesty, i don't even know if i wrote the correct flash... i assumed st12 was for stepper...
there are no pin files with any of the configurations.

still same error...
i scrapped the former config, and tried a new one, but when i load the 7i80 data, from "/lib/firmware/hm2/7i80hd_16" (where i piled the Mesa BIT files), i get the following error when i try to accept changes.
so i assume i have yet again screwed something up...

There is no need to load or use any firmware now, just do a config, save and close pncconf, and start that config.

Looks like the same firmware
Did you reset the 7I80 after loading the new firmware?

no, didn't know i was supposed to...
just power-cycled it, and i get a new error. my guess is i picked a firmware with no PWM

Yes, a ST12 config would not have any PWMgens
Mesaflash should have printed a message that you need to power
cycle the board or used the "reload" command to use the new firmware
