Lathe Macros

I don't think that anyone would actually want to _not_ use CSS if they had an encoder, and they can't use CSS without an encoder, so I think this really belongs as a configuration thing (ie, edit the G-code routines to suit your machine).
One thing I do plan on doing is making it so that any thread pitch > 3 is interpreted as a TPI number, as I am making a lot of imperial threads now.
I wonder if it is possible to make the glade boxes auto-calculate to system units if the entry is (for example) "1in" or "25mm" ?

I dont know if the units are visible to a plugged in glade panel. It might be dependent on the type of display that is chosen.
Anyway thanks for a very handy piece of software. I am going to be using it a lot.

I have also decided that it would be better if it re-read the inputs on every loop, so you could change your mind about depth of cut, for example.

If you gksudo gedit and make the changes then you get the behaviour in all spinbuttons.
I will put it in a lathe-macro config over the weekend, but so far I love it.

I've previously used ngcgui with axis (LinuxCNC 2.5) and that was very useful.

using python version 2.7
usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/gladevcp//hal_widgets.py

Is the threading function TPI only or is there a way to enter a metric pitch.
I wanted to cut a 8mm thread with a pitch of 1,25mm but got a 1,25 TPI instead
Also, is there a way to recover the original setting if the code was stopped midway? If not how would you do it in practise?
P.S. I am new to CNC thread cutting

1.25 x .03937 = 0.0492125mm for the thread pitch.
Most controllers ( every one I've ever worked on anyway ) are set up to use one or the other. I convert the numbers all the time on a Mazak Quick Turn, so you are not alone.
