Hope things will start working soon, is there anything we can do?

You can set up a new machine from the released repositories. www,linuxcnc.org/dists is still working
What LinuxCNC version, Linux distribution and realtime kernel were you wanting to use?

I had already downloaded an Debian stretch 2.7 iso and installing that works great.
Well, I just bought a new 23" 1920x1080 touchscreen monitor especially to experiment with probe-basic. Probe-basic needs at least 2.8 so I kinda wasted a day here.andypugh wrote: What LinuxCNC version, Linux distribution and realtime kernel were you wanting to use?
Installing on a spare machine, my 7i96 needs some tweaked settings too, also needs 2.8.
And my cnc machine is a gantry style machine, with two Y axis steppers. You guessed, needs 2.8 at least.
Hopefully everything starts working soon again. I never drank so much coffee in a day,
