Problems with Lichuan Ethercat servo drive

So I installed the  SSC tool app on both my laptop- Windows 11 and PC- Windows 10[Intel Lan). The EEPROM app crashed when I tried to scan, it shows nothing connected on either interface. I have tried this as Admin as well.
DHCP is set and I've tried both lan sockets and different cables. The same lan sockets work fine for Internet and file transfer.
Could I have missed a network protocol that needs installing to see the servos?

Hi everyone

So I am also trying to setup an Ethercat drive (Stepper) from Lichuan CL3-E86H. These are my first steps with Ethercat, so far I only worked with MESA cards.

From reading through the thread Lichuan (servo) drives seem to be working now. Is this correct? Is it relevant which firmware the drive uses? (I got mine delivered two weeks ago). I have not yet checked the version.

I still get the PREOP + E message when starting Linuxcnc. Also have an EK1100 running on the same loop, which works fine. XML is from page 6 or 7 of this thread (which is supposed to work). I can clear the error by manually putting the drive into PREOP mode again.

Plugging in the cable won't work because LinuxCNC gives an error when the drive is not connected on startup.

The address settings on top of the drive does not seem to affect the address in the ethercat slave listing.

Dave

EDIT: So I was able to fix the problem by changing vendor ID to : 00000766 and PID to: 00011000.

Does anybody have a working set of configuration files for a Lichuan LC10E system with homing in the drive? I have been trying unsuccessfully for several days to get either RodW's or Marco's homing configs to run. I *know* that neither of these can successfully do in-drive homing without modification because neither ever sets the 0x6098 homing mode register, or the homing velocity and acceleration registers. They also never put the drive into operating mode 6 (homing). I added the extra registers in the xml file and eventually got the drive to go into mode 6, but the motor would not turn. Also, I found that jogging with these modified config files would result in a runaway motor after a small motion. I haven't figured out what in the comp file is causing that.

So if some one out there has blazed this trail before me, I would love to see your xml, comp, hal, and ini files. I've attached my current snapshot, which still does not do homing, and has this mysterious runaway jogging problem.

Thanks,
-- Ralph

Hello,I am working with Lichuan LCE series servo drive and I am trying to establish an EtherCAT connection. Could anyone provide information on which PLC are compatible for connecting with the Lichuan LCE series via EtherCAT? Additionally, I would appreciate it if someone could guide me on the specific parameters or settings required to ensure a successful EtherCAT connection.Thank you!

Those drives will jump off that table is you get them started.

I would like to tune my drives a bit. What tuning have people tried? I'm not clear if the following command tunes the drives or re-sets everything. I'd rather not try at this point. I just let Linux do an update and had to re-install.

LC-E Series AC Servo Drive
5.2.1 Initialization parameters
Set P02-31 to 1 to initialize the drive parameters, and the drive needs to be restarted after the setting is completed.

Also, what are people doing for gantry (dual servos on a single axis) systems?

If I can get internal homing working, there is a setting in the drive for home offset so you would just adjust for squareness using it.

Hi RodW

Thanks so much for your effort.

What I have done so far to get my gantry moving is just tie the home markers for the 2 X axes together

net mydigitalinx lcec.0.0.mydigitalin => cia402.0.mydigitalin cia402.1.mydigitalin

I then modified the cia402.comp file to accommodate. I Use the index pulse from each axis for the final position. I am away from the machine until Friday, I will upload the files then.

I just loosen the coupler once homed to adjust the squareness. It seems to be working. (only need to adjust once)

So the answer is

5.2.1 Initialization parameters
Set P02-31 to 1 to initialize the drive parameters, and the drive needs to be restarted after the setting is completed.

P02.31
0: No operation 1: Restore factory values (except P00/P01 group) 2: Clear fault records

So NO that does not tune the drive.
